Rodney Caffey is from DeSoto, Texas and attended First Baptist Academy in Dallas, Texas. Upon graduating high school, he attended Abilene Christian University where he majored in Exercise Science and played collegiate football for the Wildcats. After suffering a career ending injury, he then attended Hardin-Simmons University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. It was during this time he found his passion for strength and conditioning as well as sports medicine.
He went on to pursue his Master of Science degree in Athletic Training at the University of Texas at Arlington where he continued his passion for sports medicine. He has had great opportunities to work with multiple sports performance and sports medicine staffs ranging from youth sports to professional sports settings, with most recently being the XFL Dallas Renegades and Arlington Jackals.
He is very involved with his church, First Baptist Church of Dallas, where he volunteers with the college ministry. His certifications include: Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USA Weightlifting Advanced Sports Performance Coach (USAW-2), Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B), Dry Needling Certified (DN-1), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Functional Movement Techniques Basic and Performance (FMT).
He is married to his wonderful wife, Lea Caffey, who is the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the women’s soccer program at Baylor University.
